Abstract
As a result of Covid-19, face-to-face instruction came to a halt in March 2020, and academic institutions had to transition to emergency remote teaching. Academic courses remained online for the summer session and some into the fall 2020 semester. While this was a temporary response to an emergency situation, academic institutions have a responsibility and obligation to prioritize students' quality learning experiences. to students and create measures that provide quality online learning experiences must be a priority.
Providing support and professional development opportunities for faculty to develop online courses is vital. Therefore this project will explore faculty training needs and their perceptions and application of online learning and pedagogy. This project also focused on the School of Social Work's efforts to support faculty as they transitioned to online learning and the development of frameworks and structures that will benefit and provide sustainability to the institution, even after Covid-19 accommodations have been removed. This project was presented asynchronously at the OLC Accelerate Conference, in November 2020. Dr. Araujo-Dawnson (full-time faculty in SSW) and Renee M. Rawcliffe, LMSW (adjucnt faculty in SSW) are the principal investigators on this project.
