Abstract

Feminicides in Mexico Applied Statistics Mexico Surveying and Mapping
This study examines geographic patterns and trends over time in feminicide rates across the states of Mexico using statistical mapping and quantitative modeling. By utilizing state-level monthly data, the project investigates how feminicide rates vary across regions and how those differences change over time. Regional visualizations are utilized to identify areas of concentration, geographical disparities, and shifts in distributions. Statistical modeling evaluates whether observed variations across the states and time periods reflect alarming patterns rather than random fluctuation. By integrating mapping with quantitative analysis, the study develops a structured framework for examining geographic variation and trends over time in feminicide rates. The project provides a strong statistical approach to interpreting state-level patterns in gender-based violence in Mexico and demonstrates how visualization and modeling can complement one another in the analysis of crime count data.
