Abstract
This study described the experiences of internally displaced women in Nigeria, using heuristic and phenomenological inquiry as guiding theoretical frameworks. The purpose of this study is to describe the experiences of internally displaced women in Nigeria, through their own voices, using thick and rich descriptions; and by using heuristic and phenomenological inquiry methods as guiding theoretical frameworks (Patton, 2002, 107-110). This study resulted in illuminating the problems of internally displaced women by putting faces on the statistics through longitudinal topical life history interviews of three individual Nigerian women who were displaced by internal conflicts.
