Abstract
The article offers information on the Free Angela movement stands among the most significant defense campaigns in U.S. history from 1969 to 1991. It mentions thinking and concepts of the Communist Party USA, which began hammering out an approach to defending political prisoners in the 1950s when it was under persecution. It also mentions police persecution of activists as precursor, highlighted by mass trials and the police shootings of Panthers Fred Hampton and Mark Clark in Chicago, Illinois.
