Abstract
Over the past few years, the Linked Library Data Interest Group (LLD IG) has provided cutting edge programs for the ALA community and has engaged the community in open discussions with the speakers featured on the program. The 2016 ALA Annual Conference LLD IG program featured three presentations: one focused on real world linked open data applications, and a couple of presentations focused on future plans using and producing linked data. Speakers included Dr. Mike Conlon, VIVO Project Director, presenting “OpenVIVO: A Hosted Platform for Representing Scholarly Work;” Jason Kovari, Head of Metadata Services at Cornell University, and Nancy Lorimer, Head of Metadata Department at Stanford University, presenting “Linked Data for Production: Research Questions and Project Goals;” and Jeremy Myntti, Head of Digital Library Services, and Anna Neatrour, Metadata Librarian, both at University of Utah, presenting “Linking People: Developing Collaborative Regional Vocabularies.”
