Abstract
The distribution of intermanual discrepancies on three motor tests (Grooved Pegboard, Finger Tapping and Dynamometer) were examined in normal and unilateral brain lesion samples. Considerable variability in the intermanual discrepancies was observed in all three samples. A high percentage of the normal sample obtained scores more than one standard deviation from the control mean on a single measure. Therefore, the consistency of discrepancies across tasks (pattern of performance) was examined. The results are discussed in regard to previous studies, and in the implications for clinical practice.
