In Love’s Betrayal, Peter Mulholland, using media archives from popular Irish newspapers and interviews with some key figures, seeks to reconstruct the decline of the authoritarian influence of the Irish Catholic Church and a concurrent emergence of new religious movements.The book will be of interest both to religious historians and to people who consider themselves Irish.
