Abstract
The use of technology in social work practice has allowed practitioners to provide services in remote locations, improve access to services, and improve accessibility to clients with limited mobility or chronic illnesses. While incorporating technology into social work practice offers many advantages, factors such as generational status and the digital divide have impacted the acceptance of technology among different populations including social workers. This chapter examines how technology has been adopted by social work practitioners and the factors that contribute to the incorporation of technology in social work practice. The authors discuss the integration of technology throughout the field of social work and continued challenges and recommendations to improve digital equity in practice.
