Abstract
In an era dominated by digital connectivity, the influence of social media on adolescents' psychological and educational well-being is profound. This chapter explores the dichotomy of social media as both a platform for positive self-expression and a source of risks such as cyberbullying and sexualization. Drawing on recent studies, it highlights the correlation between extensive social media use and declines in academic performance, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach to digital engagement. This chapter explores the application of cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) and other therapeutic strategies to address the maladaptive use of social media and its impact on youth. Through research findings and clinical insights, it offers guidance for mental health professionals, educators, and parents to support adolescents in navigating the digital landscape responsibly, fostering resilience and healthy development in the digital age.
